To subscribe to PORBASE a written request, to the PORBASE Division in the National Library, is necessary. It should indicate the library’s or documentation service’s characteristics, the thematic areas it covers, the format used for description and the computer system in use.
A small sample of the institution’s bibliographic records, illustrating the variety and the characteristics of the collection, should be sent by e-mail or CD-ROM.
In response, the National Library will send the necessary technical documentation as well as the membership protocol and begin the cooperation process. Information about the cooperants (candidate or definite) profile will be sent after an evaluation of the records.
