The National Bibliography includes information related to monographs, periodicals and items deposited under the law of the Legal Deposit, all of which are published in Portugal, and can be found in the National Library. Information about theses produced in Portuguese higher education institutes is also available and have been matter of Legal Deposit since 1986.
The search of the National Bibliography can be structured by author, title, subject, publisher, any word, UDC, collection, ISBN or ISSN. The records can be captured by ISO 2709, UNIMARC format, and reused in other databases. Depending on the needs of each library, improvements of the available resources are possible by erasing, altering and/or completing fields of the captured records.
